Imagine a world where almost everyone around you is trained in reacting in emergency incidents like fainting, chocking, loss of consciousness, epileptic seizures, head and/or neck trauma and others. Where most of the people around you can provide basic life support (BLS), can effectively make use of a defibrillator, can unblock an airway, can safely handle a person in-seizure, can stop a life-threatening limb bleeding. The first seconds or minutes are the most crucial to prevent the occurrence of a disability or the loss of a life. The first responder is the most important person! Let us all become trained first responders ! There is no better place to make this happen other than the school setting, which is the perfect training to achieve 100% participation and evaluation of the effectiveness of the training! High-school students should receive initial and refresher training in Aid and Rescue (Basic Life Support, chocking, trauma and more) every single year until graduation. This training can be really fun! And can literally save lives! Our life, our parents life, our friends life, our children lives, anyone's life.
