I am a high-school student recently assigned to a school project about incidents in the school setting. During my short research I learned a lot of important things that could literally save lives! I myself enrolled in a BLS training and received my first certificate. I think that training for aid and rescue should be mandatory in all schools worldwide. Not only BLS training but also training to effectively cope with other emergency incidents like chocking, fainting, epileptic seizures, panic attack and others. There is no better chance to do this other than the years we spend in school. The training can be really fun, reinforced with team competitions and awards, making the world safer for us and the generations to come. My goal is to start pushing to all directions to make this training compulsory to all schools! Six European countries already have compulsory Basic Life Support training for schoolchildren : Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Portugal and the UK. We need to make more efforts and expand the training to include more incidents and to involve all countries!
